Question: fuel pump or something else?

I had a new fuel pump put on my 2000 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, 2dr, 2wd, V6, 4.0L OHV. That was about one year ago. Now when i turn a corner it loses some power just like it was doing before i had the fuel pump put on. Could there be other problems other than fuel pump at work here? I have a slow oil leak also. It is hesitating on highway driving between 60mph and 70mpg. If i could drive 80mph all the way, it would probably run smooth but at lower speeds i have that hesitation for it to get up to the next higher speed and then it rumbles a little and then smoothes out.
